CASSANDRA DITTMER - CONTRACTED

With a growing audience of 44.4K followers, my role on Cassandra Dittmer’s team is to develop partnerships and content to promote her brand as an expert stylist focused on ethical goods. I manage Cassandra’s marketing assets, assist in brand outreach and execution and strategize co-branded content. Along with this, I develop materials for her website and Instagram account that touch on innovative and sustainable lifestyle, tech, fashion and beauty products or news.

This has been a new experience working freelance and has shown me how to work in an independent setting, helping to strengthen my skills as an entrepreneur.

Hearst Magazines

I started as an Advertising Assistant in the Hearst Chicago office for both ELLE and O, The Oprah Magazine, and was later promoted to Marketing Coordinator with O, The Oprah Magazine. I strategized proposals with our sales teams to pitch co-branded multi-media campaigns to bring in advertising revenue with clients from a range of industries including home goods, fashion, travel, beauty and food.

My role gave me the opportunity to work similar to a marketing agency collaborating with cross-functional teams and seeing a project from the initial RFP, brainstorm, customization, negotiations and execution.

Meredith corporation

While finishing my last semester at Iowa State, I worked part-time as an e-commerce intern for Meredith in Des Moines, Iowa. I created shoppable articles that drove readers to the various magazines’ websites to generate additional online revenue through CPC’s on the titles’ SHOP tabs. I would pitch evergreen article ideas weekly, with 3 to 4 being approved and written within the week.

Titles I worked on included Better Homes and Garden, Shape, More and MyWedding. My experience allowed me to better my writing skills while learning about SEO and how to modify my voice to appeal to different audience demographics.

CALVIN KLEIN

I had the unique opportunity at Calvin Klein to work as a Digital Public Relations Intern and Special Events Intern. With my previous experience the company offered the opportunity to work in both departments over the summer since they closely collaborated on various projects.

With digital PR, my job was to assist with all earned social media related to Calvin Klein. I worked with influencers to seed/gift product, handled daily global tracking of relevant social media and contributed to influencer events.

On the special events team we worked on projects including the Bloomingdale's x Modern Cotton Bedding Launch, the Deep Euphoria NYFW Launch, World of Calvin at Macy's Initiative, the internal CK Social event, and the company's holiday party. My duties included researching/contacting venues, managing DJ’s/music and facilitating catering and model staffing during events.

The experience I gained working side-by-side with both my teams at Calvin exposed me to the developing importance of digital technology, social media and experiential events within the apparel industry.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

I had the opportunity to work with PR Consulting and the BCBGMAXAZRIA Group during the Spring of 2016 at New York Fashion Week as a Public Relations Intern.

I worked for Adam Selman during my time with PR Consulting in helping to arrange operations before, during and after his fashion show. This included coordinating seating, arranging the event decor and learning how to format press clippings from online media coverage related to the event and designer.

At BCBG, I worked several events including the BCBGMAXAZRIA runway show, the Hervé Leger runway show and the elite client event hosted at the BCBGMAXAZRIA flagship store on 5th Avenue. During the BCBGMAXAZRIA show, I was in charge of helping to organizing models throughout the production with press coverage, hair, makeup, wardrobe changes and photo shoots. At the Hervé Leger show, I worked alongside the entertainment relations team to facilitate celebrities for press interviews and product endorsement. For the elite client event during New York Fashion Week, I assisted the visuals team in setting up the venue with logistics, music and decor.

I was not only able to get a better understanding of the logistical aspects to public relations and events, but was also able to practice managing schedules and relations during high-stress and rapidly changing settings.

BCBGMAXAZRIA GROUP INC.

During the summer of 2015 I worked full time as a Public Relations Intern in New York City for the BCBGMAXAZRIA Group.

I coordinated sample pulls using Fashion GPS, assisted with high volume daily press requests, helped in writing press coverage recap reports and conducted research relating to competing businesses and target demographics. The team and I worked alongside national and international editorial publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan and more to feature product within their monthly issues.

The BCBGMAXAZRIA Group was comprised of three lines targeted towards separate segments of the market - BCBGeneration, BCBGMAXAZRIA and Hervé Leger. My responsibilities oversaw all three lines, including ready-to-wear and runway.

TWO X FOUR

I began my professional experience working at Two by Four as an Account Executive Intern after my freshman year. The medium-sized advertising firm gave me the opportunity to dive head first into the project management and creative realms of advertising.

My main accounts at the agency included the Chicago Bears, Wrangler, Snap-On and Firestone. One of my main tasks included intensive market research on unique goods, target demographics and competing businesses. With this information, my team and I would prepare sampling books and presentations to help with pitches to new and existing clients.

I worked directly with the creative, production and planning teams to thoroughly execute projects. The agency’s services included various mediums that encompassed print, radio, internet, TV and experiential activations.
